The Chameleon’s measures against Covid-19

We’ve finally opened the 2020 summer season! This year, the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed preparations, but we can now say that we’re ready to welcome anyone who wants to enjoy our setting and the pleasure of sleeping under the pine trees (by the way: we’ve received many messages of encouragement and we want you to know that they’ve given us a lot of strength. It must be said!).

If we encourage you to come visit us this summer, feeling safe, it’s because we’ve really worked hard on it. Advised by expert professionals, we’ve taken a number of preventive measures. We’ve taken them and will continue to take them throughout the summer, with all the responsibility and good practice required. Here are the most important guidelines you should keep in mind when spending your chameleon-like new-normal vacation:

WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT RECEPTION

The first thing you’ll see will be a series of graphic instructions with the most important measures you must follow at the campsite (social distancing, use of masks… things we all know, but sometimes accidentally forget). You’ll also see an electronic hand sanitizer dispenser that you must apply to your hands before going through the check-in window. We, for our part, will always assist you wearing a mask and having previously disinfected the counter surface.

WHEN YOU ENTER THE CAMPING AREA

This year, we are required to reduce our capacity to a maximum of 75%. Tents must be at least two meters apart from each other. To better control this, we have introduced the role of an usher for the first time, who will kindly escort each group of campers to the place where they can set up their tents. Our intention is to ensure that the campsite is free of parked cars that could inconvenience the majority of guests. Therefore, we will ask that you park in the designated parking spaces around the perimeter.

IN THE RESTROOMS AND SINKS

In both, we need to reduce capacity by half so we can thoroughly disinfect part of the facilities. You should be aware that the maximum number of people allowed to use each restroom (men’s and women’s, respectively) must be consistent so that the recommended safety distance of one and a half meters between people is respected in the restroom area. Therefore, we ask that everyone wait their turn outside the restrooms when necessary. As a measure to facilitate cleaning, we have established that four showers will be in operation in each of our two restrooms with showers instead of eight (while four are in use, four will be preparing, and the same with the toilets). We will maintain hygiene throughout the day with specific viricidal products. As a rule, they must sanitize at least six times a day, but we will do so more often, with a reinforced team that will be especially careful during peak hours. This situation is new for everyone, and we want it to be comfortable and, above all, safe. We will be as flexible as possible so that customers always have access to personal hygiene facilities. In the washrooms, you will have greater distance between the sinks that are in operation.

IN THE BAR AND RESTAURANT

Breakfast and dinner this year will be served from the outdoor bar in our lawn area, where tables will be spaced with the required spacing. The indoor bar area will always have limited capacity, and waiting time must be maintained. Hand sanitizer dispensers and signage will also be visible at all times.

SUPERMARKET

Closed for now. As soon as it reopens, we will inform you of the preventive measures we are taking.

We don’t want to end this post without, of course, thanking you for your willingness to collaborate with us. We’re seeing a very positive attitude from those who call us interested in knowing these measures in advance, and also from the first campers who have already set up their tents. It’s understood that these measures are for the good of each and every one of us.

This has to be a great summer; a summer in which we recover from the sadness that confinement may have left inside us, like an implanted chip. We need to recharge our batteries for everything that’s to come. So let’s enjoy every second surrounded by trees, the sea, and fresh air. Nature is wise, and we don’t just have to learn from it. We have to ally ourselves with it. Going camping is one of the best ways to do so.

Have a great vacation.
