Camping Camaleón is a favorite spot for those who love the essence of Los Caños de Meca. What those who visit us each summer value most is its welcoming natural setting under the pine trees and its friendly atmosphere, both in the private camping area and in our open-air meadow.
At Camping Camaleón, we're currently focusing on a glamping-style vacation model so you can enjoy the surroundings and your free time more and more, without the crowds and finding the peace and quiet you need. It's all about making it easy for you to arrive and have everything ready.
We're partnering with Kampaoh, a company specializing in stays in fully equipped tents with comfortable beds and basic furniture.

Trafalgar Beaches
The beaches of Los Caños, just steps away. Forget the car!
There's something special about sleeping under trees. The natural shade during the day, the coolness of the coast at night, and the silence of the surroundings help you truly rest. You can also escape the hustle and bustle of the world, light pollution, and so much more. The sense of peace provided by the Breña Natural Park, with its pine forests and cliffs, permeates wherever you go in Los Caños. Mount Meca and the Trafalgar Lighthouse, with the ever-present force of the Atlantic, also exert a curious magnetism. The Chameleon is right in the middle of these two symbols of Caños, embraced by their magic.
A NATURAL SPACE WITHOUT PLOTS
At Camping Camaleón, there are no barriers dividing the area into typical rectangular pitches. There are no painted lines, no artificial dividers, and no cars next to your tent (although your stay includes parking in a designated area).
Our fully equipped tent area takes advantage of the charm of the nooks and crannies between bushes and trees. Trees with large canopies create a pleasant microclimate and encourage campers to rest during the hottest hours of the day. It's about enjoying the ecosystem to the fullest, respecting its beauty, following the logic of the terrain, and creating a freer, more fluid atmosphere.
THE MEADOW, A PLEASURE FOR YOUR SENSES
We call it our "green beach." It's the place where we slowly start each day in the sun, at a chameleon's pace, with a very leisurely breakfast, listening to beautiful songs, or doing a little yoga. Getting ready for a day at the beach to the rhythm of our beach is a good start. Let it be known that you're on vacation! Then the pink sunset arrives, night falls, and the beach becomes beautiful. Our outdoor dinners offer a varied menu, a wood-fired oven, and various food trucks. Plus, good music has always been a hallmark of our beach life. Visit this summer's calendar of activities and concerts; don't miss anything interesting.
History
Camping Camaleón was founded in 1982 in Los Caños de Meca, a hamlet in the coastal town of Barbate, which at that time was little more than a street with incredible beaches, beautiful pine forests, and a few scattered houses. From our beginnings, we were a simple campsite where the traditions of the most family-oriented camper went hand in hand with those of globetrotting and bohemian adventurers. The freedom of thought of the time was palpable, for example, in the Andalusian rock counterculture that was brewing here, or in the practice of naturism. In the 1990s and up until the mid-2000s, the campsite became one of the most fun places in the province of Cádiz thanks to its festive and youthful atmosphere. We retain our passion for creating something authentic every summer, although we now focus on a more relaxed and comfortable vacation model. Our approach is friendly and respectful, in line with our philosophy of life. After more than 40 summers open, for many, we remain a second home where time stands still. You will always be welcome here.
